"Blues"

After a very brief retirement, Colrus decided to return to teaching, independent of the college, where he would have free reign to implement his own philosophy and perspectives. "I have always encouraged students to explore and discover more about themselves through their art", says Colrus."The art student and the person are one in the same - inseparable, teach one and you teach the other. Grow as one and you grow as the other. Those parts of us honed for art making purposes are no less relevant in our daily lives. After all these years I still enjoy teaching and conduct small classes in area towns today."

The Connecticut Watercolor Society was founded in 1938 and presents two Juried Exhibitions annually. Artists may submit up to two paintings of any water media for selection by the jury, usually a nationally recognized artist. That juror selects the paintings to be exhibited as well as those artistic works to receive awards.

As is always the case, this Connecticut Watercolor Society's Exhibition is open to all free of charge and will be a very special opportunity for artists and art lovers alike to view and purchase the finest of watercolor artworks in Connecticut.
